Worship Service

Our Theology of Worship

God, as the Creator, calls His people to worship Him. The triune God calls us as His creatures to worship Him as he commands. Therefore, at Faith OPC, we seek to worship in a way that is faithful to the Scriptures.

As you can see from the sample liturgy below, the order of our worship seeks to walk through the gospel message every Sunday. The worship service is designed to meditate upon the holiness of God, understand the sinfulness of man, repent of personal sins--both what we have done and left undone--and turn to Christ our Lord and rejoice in His great mercy.

What to Expect

Children

We have children's Sunday School classes available at the same time as Adult Sunday School. Currently, we only have children's Sunday School for ages 7-13; all other ages are welcome to join their parents in Adult Sunday School.

Children are expected to sit with their parents or guardians during the worship service. While we love to hear the little noises of a baby and the small whispers between siblings, we do have a crying room where parents and children can sit and listen to the service, if need be. This room also serves as a space for nursing moms.

Dress

At Faith OPC, we do not want attire to stand in the way of worship. With that said, we see all manner of dress on Sunday mornings, from suits and ties to sandals. We do ask that you please dress modestly.

Music

At Faith OPC, we sing hymns that are accompanied by piano. The hymns we sing come from the Trinity Psalter Hymnal, a joint effort of the OPC and URC.
